Greetings from EARTHWISE CLUB, IIT Gandhinagar!
We are excited to invite you to the Earthwise Lecture Series. Join us as we uncover the mysteries of the submerged coral reefs and their role in understanding Earth's past climate changes.
About the IODP:
The International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) continues its remarkable journey to explore Earth's history through marine sediments and rocks. Expedition 389 is dedicated to the study of the Hawaiian drowned reefs. These submerged coral formations hold invaluable insights into sea level fluctuations and climatic variations spanning the past half a million years.
About the Speaker: Dr. Pankaj Khanna
We are honoured to host Dr. Pankaj Khanna, an Assistant Professor at IIT Gandhinagar, as our distinguished speaker for this event. Dr Khanna's extensive expertise in sedimentology and marine research has led him to be a vital member of the IODP Expedition 389 team aboard the MMA Valour, the drillship set to uncover the secrets of the Hawaiian reefs.
