Abstract:The Himalayan region is experiencing profound environmental changes as climate warming accelerates glacier retreat and modifies critical biogeochemical cycles. My research examines these transformations through an integrated approach combining multi-isotope systems (δ¹³C, ¹⠴C, Os), organic biomarkers, and hydrogeochemical analyses. The work explores organic carbon dynamics across glacial and deglaciated landscapes, along with groundwater quality challenges in the Gangetic Basin. By investigating these interconnected processes, this talk will present geochemical perspectives on how climate change and anthropogenic forcing are reshaping biogeochemical cycles across different environments.
