R. Valli Divya

PhD

Research Interests : I started my PhD at IIT Gandhinagar in July 2022 with CSIR-NET JRF. I am an experimental Mineral Physicist and hence my work involves stimulating planetary interior conditions (High Pressure-High Temperature) in the laboratory. In my PhD work, I am trying to understand the importance of geological materials in conditions relevant to planetary interiors. I do experiments at High Pressure and High Temperatures and try to understand the behavior of geophysically relevant materials under these conditions. I use a device called Diamond Anvil Cell coupled with XRD/Raman Spectroscopy for the experimental work. I have worked on magnesium germanates which are analogs of forsterite (olivine) silicates compressed up to 105GPa.
