Dr. Niharika is a biogeochemist interested in studying the rates and mechanisms of elemental transformations in the Earth systems. She is an expert in stable isotope geochemistry of carbon and nitrogen. She has received her PhD from Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad where she worked on nitrogen transformations in soils from various climatic zones of India. During her postdoctoral work at PRL, Ahmedabad and Academia Sinica, Taiwan she has gained experience in nitrogen and carbon dynamics in aquatic and marine environments using stable isotopic techniques.
