Horthing V. Zimik received a Ph.D. degree in earth, ocean, and climate sciences from IIT Bhubaneswar in 2020. After graduating, he worked as a Research Associate from Oct. 2020 to April 2022 at DST’s Centre of Excellence in Water Resources, Cryosphere, and Climate Change Studies, Sikkim University. He is currently working on the evaluation of the geothermal potential of NW Himalaya using outcrop analogue studies. His area of interest includes geothermal energy, hydro-geochemistry, stable isotope systematics, remote sensing and GIS, photogrammetry, and soil chemistry.

He has joined in CSIR-NIO, Goa as a scientist on 20th March 2023.
