River Science

River science is the study of how physical, chemical and biological processes and anthropogenic activities interact to influence the riverine ecosystem, which in turn dictates various river processes at different spatio-temporal scales. It is a rapidly emerging inter-disciplinary field involving hydrology, geomorphology, geology, water quality and ecological studies. Our research encompasses wide-ranging topics from river morpho-dynamics, sediment transport, flood modelling, hydrological and hydraulic modelling, and river connectivity to greenhouse emission from rivers, river health assessment, E-flow assessment and the river basin management of both perennial and dryland river systems. Join us in our endeavor to have a more holistic understanding of rivers to save our rivers and our future.
